MAX THE MAL HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY MAX was owned by a family in South Naples and they relinquished him to the shelter. He is a tremendous dog. He is fully trained, housebroken, eager to please you and very active. He needs a family or owner ready to work him, play with him and run off his energy. Max went to a prospective adopter last week. He was great in the home but somewhat reactive to dogs on his walk. We brought him here and Dale, our head trainer, showed the foster dad how to correct him... and in 15 minutes he was walking with Farley next to Max by Dale. He just needed to be told what is right and what behavior is wrong. He learned very quickly. Unfortunately the adopter family was not righty for him and he was returned. Mals are notorious for being hyper. Max is full of energy but not hyper in a negative sense. He wants to please and play. He loves his treats and he is great with dogs and people. When he was at the shelter in Naples, he was in play group with 10 dogs every day. He is in foster currently. He weighs about 80 but needs to gain about 10 pounds, as he was obviously devastated by being turned in. His weight will come back quickly.
