SANDY 1 HAS A HOME We have another new gal in town. Her name is Sandy-1. (So as not to confuse her with the first Sandy this year). She was abandoned because she needed some eye lid surgery. The surgery was been done, yesterday 8-26-21, and she is healing beautifully. She is wearing a cone and doesn't lie it at all. She has really shaken her head so much as to cause the stiches to ooze a bit. She will take 3 weeks to be completely healed during which time she will be in foster in Port Charlotte. From what I know she is a sweet dog. She met another female today and after into was OK. The other dog didn't know what to make of the cone which caused them both to be a bit weary. She is about 2.5-3 years old and about 55 pounds. I spent an hour with her yesterday at the shelter and all day today 8/28 with her, and even in her cone, she came over to me for multiple trips to be petted and to get attention. She rode well in the truck and handled the tremendous thunder and rain storm without issue. She also got groomed today which included a bath, nails and blow dry. She whined like a typical shep, but did fine. She was tested with a few dogs at the shelter, both big and small and did very well albeit through the fence. Mostly non-reactive at all. She has all shots, chipped, HW NEG and she is spayed. If you would like to meet this fabulous gal, give me a call so we can set up a meeting while she is in foster so when she is ready she can go to her forever home.
