HANDSOME COOPER HAS A NEW FAMILY COOPER was originally presented to us by his owner. I tried to convince her to keep him but her declining health got in the way.  She is older and a bit frail and basically unable to care for him as he needs.  He needs a strong alpha family.  This is an active dog who has, for the past months, been crated 12 hrs a day and who has gotten limited stimulation, play and direction. He has shown himself top be alpha if the family or owner is a weak leader. What he needs is a family with the ability to be alpha to him and to make sure he gets the interaction and play he so deserves.
A few months ago he was adopted out to a single guy who I felt would follow through with training etc but that never happened. His significant other also had a dog that they did not permit me to introduce which led to tension between the two dogs and ultimately between the two people. Finally the tension boiled over and they decided to return Cooper to us.
Bottom line is that Cooper was too much for them and their boxer mix and they did not do the training as required and ultimately Cooper just was not fitting into their family unit. Cooper is a great dog and is dog friendly but like any new situation all parties have to understand the transition component of the union and basically form the relationship over time. Nothing is instant in adoption where there are multiple people with their multiple personalities and multiple dogs that have to suddenly get along. These things take time. In this case Cooper was the fall guy.
He likes the outdoors, swimming, ball and toys.  He is totally trained in all basic commands. He is UTD on shots, neutered, housebroken and very people and dog friendly.  The owner did a considerable amount of valuable work with Cooper but in her current condition she is unable to care for him. He is a black and tan,  handsome and a large GSD at 90 pounds.  He would make a family with no other animals a fantastic family member. He is dog friendly but in his current state I want him to be the main focus for any perspective adopter family.  COOPER IS A SUPER CHILL DOG AND LOVES TO SWIM!
