CAPTAIN1 HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY CAPTAIN#1 came into the rescue today as a dog transfer from another shelter. He was apparently adopted and returned because he barked at their parrots....Da ...dogs bark, if you are looking for a dog that doesn't bark, he may not be the best choice but so far for 2 hours he didn't bark once. While I was with him he met and is being homed with 2 mini dogs, one pictured below and he was just fine. it was stated in his folder from another shelter that he had a super high drive and was not suited to be with small dogs or cats. I think that was a mistake as he seemed to be fine with the two he met. He was not placed wit cats but walked by the outdoor cat area and didn't seem to react in any aggressive way. He is being fostered with 2 small dogs and a cat, so we will see what happens over the next few days.
Captain is a handsome silver and black GSD. He is well adjusted, like people and makes an immediate effort to get petted. He weighs about 75 pounds and is otherwise healthy. he is neutered, HW Neg, has all shots and a chip and surely does not look his age of 9yrs old. This dog seems to have been a family pet and was relinquished for some reason other than behavioral as he is a calm confident dog.
If Captain#1 is a fit for your family, please fill out an applications and give us a call to meet him. he is ready to go home on a moments notice to the right family.
