WE HAVE A FAMILY LOOKING AT HER THIS WEEKEND. THE FAMILY IS COMMITTED TO HER SO WE ARE SUSPENDING HER AVAILABILITY UNTIL A DECISION IS MADE. KIA NEEDS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY KIA is not a car, but a super affectionate, energetic and playful female black and tan GSD. She is about a year old, has had a litter of pups and is now spayed, is heartworm negative and ready for adoption. Kia is a super people and dog friendly dog who has 2 issues: she gets car sick and she has separation anxiety. She was left outside by her owner (who is now in hospice), staked to a tree for exercise, and was taken in by a neighbor. She does understand having to be kenneled but has had accidents on the floor and complains loudly when left alone or separated from her current caregiver. She is OK in the crate, but whoever does take her has to begin training immediately on trusting her new family and her ability to be left alone, as no one can stay with her 24-7... Life happens and she must learn to cope. Affection and room to play are essential for Kia. She is really smart and affectionate and seeks attention when she meets people, which makes her highly desirable, with the caveat that training is essential with her in order to bring her up to an acceptable standard. She is a quick study, and has already begun learning basic commands. She weighs about 61 pounds, is about 22 inches high at the shoulder, and is black and tan with a saddle. She is currently housed with her foster in SEBRING FL, so anyone wishing to see her has to make arrangements well in advance or go to her foster in Sebring to visit.
