CHASE HAS A HOME WITH HIS FOSTER FAMILY

Chase Came to us from Labelle in Jan 2017. He was dumped after a dog fight which he was not party to, but lived in the home. He is a 1 year old silver and black male GSD. He was neutered and given shots and a HW test on 2/10/17, and the HW test proved positive. He weighs about 100 pounds and he is a big strong dog. He is also a super sweet and gentle boy who has no clue why he is not with his family. He has been with a foster family now for 4 weeks and he is coming out of his shell. He does cower when a hand is placed over him but after I showed him that only good things happen here, he seemed to understand and stood up straight. He is somewhat reticent about strangers but after reassurance, he get calm. This is in his home; however outside he is much more calm and will allow people to pet him without being too scared. He is a confident dog and approached the stairs in my office very well. He is house broken and crate trained. He does know his name and does come when called but has no other formal or basic training skills. His foster has now taught him to leash walk, sit, down and stay. He is currently living with a foster family in Port Charlotte whose assessment of him is super sweet and affectionate. He did originally come from a home before he was taken by animal control. For now he can be seen by appointment daily or on the weekends. If you are interested in him please call me for a visit and to get your application in the queue.

update: Chase has turn out to be a great dog. He loves his foster Mom and Dad and is a bit wary of strangers. It took him about 15 minutes to warm up to me again. He does have a strong prey drive and does not like cats. He chases them so we do not want to adopt him to anyone with cats. We can see that he is a fast learner. His new fosters have really begun to socialize him and to obedience train him. He is a truly great dog in need of a strong leader and family.
WE WOULD LIKE TO GET HIM INTO A PERMANENT HOME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
