RUSTY HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY

UPDATE: RUSTY IS IN A FOSTER HOME IN CAPE CORAL AND IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW. HE MAY BE GOING TO HIS FOREVER HOME TOMORROW.... KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED. HAPPY DAYS HE WAS ADOPTED Rusty came to us today 4/17/15 along with brother Shadow, from a farm in Alva. The owner passed and his wife needs to relocate and cannot take Shadow or Rusty with her. Rusty and Shadow are brothers but do not get along and will be separated.

After Rusty was separated from his brother and neutered, a completely new personality has emerged. Rusty is playful, obedient, engaged and wants and seeks out people's attention and affection. He gets toys out of his toy box to play and is a completely different dog now that ShADOW IS NOT THERE. Rusty ENJOYS being petted he responds well to touch and affection. Rusty has had no formal training and needs an obedience class. Neither are jumpers and neither are aggressive in any way. They do simply alert when someone enters the farm road, but beyond that they are gentle sweet tempered dogs.
Rusty's foster reports he is getting well quickly, very loving and engaged and really a sweet good tempered dog suitable for any family.

Rusty is a black and tan male with a black muzzle but no mask, weighing 80 pounds. He is 10 pounds over weight. His teeth are better than Shadows but show wear due to boredom and eating or chewing on rocks. Rusty is in otherwise great health and he is an engaged dog. He, like his brother, were outside dogs and were not house broken before we got them BUT RUSTY AND SHADOW ARE HOUSE BROKEN AND NOT DESTRUCTIVE. They did go into their kennels at night and never pooped or peed there and have been perfect in homes.

Rusty is good with people and with other dogs but not with one another. if you have a dog currently and want to see these guys, we would do this introductions for you.
