OTTO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
OTTO WAS LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL HOME AND LOW AND BEHOLD WE HAVE DECIDED TO KEEP HIM AS OUR OWN.
We picked Otto up from Animal Control last week. He was ‘hairy’ to say the least and also full of poop…into the bath he went and came out smelling like a rose.
When a dog first comes into our rescue we are always careful on giving them a bath right away. We tend to get to know them first and proceed slowly. Otto was the exception. His calm demeanor and loving personality made him one of the easiest dogs we have ever had. He loves everyone. Our cats immediately took to him and of course our 6 big boys liked him as well. He joined the pack in a record 15 hours and was totally at home, playing, using the toy box and exceptionally friendly.
Otto is a neutered male black and tan GSD. He is long haired… so if you are lucky enough to adopt him, you need to take that into account. He is about 80 pounds and will surely be 90 when he fills out. He is under 2 years old and in otherwise good shape. He IS HEART WORM POSITIVE so you would have to take him for his treatment within 2 weeks from the adoption date and then keep him at full bed rest for 4 weeks after that. Bed rest means no running, swimming or dog parks! He can watch TV, play computer games or just lay around the house. He can do whatever, inside the house, other than running or physical exercise. His out of doors activity is limited to peeing and pooing and slow short walks. Once the 4 weeks had passed he will be just fine for many years.
Otto is the kind of dog everyone dreams about. He bonds quickly, responds to love and attention and is totally a pleasure to be with. Otto has had no training. He must be taken to at least a 6 week basic course and we will need proof or payment for that before we release him. We are seeking only the best people to apply for him because he is just that special. Diane has that look in her eye that he may be ours if we cannot fid the perfect home, so we need to act quickly and find him the perfect family. If you qualify please give us a call for an interview. 941 575 0243
