THE ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE NEEDS YOUR HELP

Hello Friends,

I cannot stress enough the importance of this letter.

We are in danger of losing our booth at the Sun Flea Market because of being short-handed. The Sun Flea Market provides the booth for us at no cost, but lately they have made note that the booth is often closed during operating hours. If we are not making use of the booth, it may be taken away from us. We do not have enough people volunteering to work a 3-hour shift each weekend in order to keep the booth open. We still need help this very weekend.

All of the items that we sell in the booth have been donated to the shelter; therefore every cent that we take in goes directly to us. It is estimated that the shelter will make about $12,000 this year from selling items at the flea market. We greatly depend on this money in order to continue helping the animals and we cannot afford to lose this wonderful fundraising opportunity.

Not only do we benefit by selling items at the flea market - we gain valuable exposure. This week the shelter received a donation in the amount of $250 because the donor saw our booth at the flea market. Acts of generosity such as this are happening on a regular basis. We cannot afford to lose the exposure.

I need people who can make a commitment to be there and stay for the entire 3-hour shift. The flea market is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9AM to 4PM. Our schedule is broken down into 2 shifts each day: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 12:30 PM to 4:00PM. Running the booth is very easy – you simply take money from those who purchase items and provide change if needed. All of the prices are marked on the items. This would be an ideal opportunity for those of you who wish to volunteer but are not able to take part in some of the physical activities here at the shelter. If anyone can commit to a shift once a weekend, once every other weekend, or just once in a lifetime, I will be forever grateful.

If you would like to become a volunteer and are not sure how to get started, please contact me so we can work together in order to find something that benefits both AWL and you.

P.S. – Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the volunteers who have dedicated their time to help run the booth over the course of the past year. We would not have lasted this long if it were not for you.
